Get to Know Danielle

I came to Canada in 1987 from Cambodia, my parents risked their lives to bring me and my sister to Canada in search of a better life.

Growing up my parents taught me the value of hard work, respect, integrity and to seek opportunities to better myself and to help others. I started working at 14 years old selling flowers outside liquor stores. That was probably one of the best jobs for me to learn about customer service and sales. I went on to work at McDonald’s and continued to work in many different industries, including dry-cleaning, retail stores, hotels, restaurants, legal and government offices. I even worked at a Go-cart track!

My real estate journey began when I bought my first property at 24 years old. During this time, I knew I did not want to pay rent for someone else’s mortgage when I could purchase my own property and pay myself.  With my mom’s help and all my waitressing tips, I was able to buy a semi-detached home built in the 1960s.

In 2010, my fiancé and I decided to pool our money together and buy a house so we can start building our assets. We purchased our first single detached property in Ottawa and have continued to grow our portfolio since then. We currently have investment units with joint venture partners in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, and Moncton.
