Giving Back

“Create wealth so you may have more to give and share with others”

I am proud to actively contribute to the following charities and organizations through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities.

Women Investors Network Canada (WINC)

In December 2021, I co-founded the Women Investors Network Canada (WINC) with Aqui K. Dapaah and Esther Nicolas. Aqui, Esther and I are all mothers and real estate investors and we created this network because we saw the need for connection with other like-minded women who are striving to take charge of their lives. We believe that we can achieve more when we all come together and encourage each other to accomplish great things.

WINC is a community for women to connect, provide support and be inspired to take action. We are currently hosting monthly in-person events in Ottawa and online meetups for women across Canada. Join our community by following us on Instagram at @winc.investors and stay updated on our upcoming events!

World Assistance for Cambodia

My father was a strong believer in education, especially for girls. He wanted my sister and I to have the opportunity to receive a great education which was not possible at the time in Cambodia due to the aftermath of the civil war. When he passed away in 2010, I was determined to give back and raise money to build a school in Cambodia in his honour. The Khut Chhorn Memorial School was built in 2012 and is located in my father’s childhood village in Cambodia.

Children’s Hospital of Eastern Canada

In 2012, when my son was born, he was diagnosed with one kidney that was larger than the other. Our family doctor referred us to CHEO so that they could monitor his kidney. We went every year for an exam and ultrasound for the first 5 years of his life, until he was officially discharged in 2017. We are forever grateful for the doctors and medical staff at CHEO. We were always treated well, and they always made sure our son was as comfortable as possible. Children deserve to be playing in the parks and parents deserve support when their children are sick. Please donate to CHEO so they can continue to do their amazing work.

Canadian Feed the Children

When I became a mom, everything changed for me. I became especially sensitive and concerned about the well-being of all children, not just my own. Children are innocent and deserve to feel safe, loved and have access to basic amenities. When I was at the Thailand refugee camp, my family was sponsored by a family here in Canada and with their contributions, we were able to be a little bit more comfortable than we would have been without their help. Today, I am grateful to be in a position where I can give and have a direct impact on another child’s life and their family through our monthly sponsorship. Please donate.

Ottawa Food Bank

The Food Bank is an important organization for me because I remember what it was like when I was hungry and my parents could not buy the food I wanted to eat as we were on a very tight budget. I remember going to school early and getting free cereal and milk thanks to the Breakfast program by the local food organization - It was the best feeling and such a treat for me! Everyone deserves to have food to eat. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about whether their kids will have food for the day or not. Please donate to your local Food Bank so that families and children can have access to the food they need while they are undergoing hardships.
